The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona, United States.  The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and attains a depth of over a mile. Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona.

 

Itinerary: Las Vegas, NV  Grand Canyon West Rim  Las Vegas, NV

Today we are going to fully explore the mystery Grand Canyon West Rim. You can choose to be picking up from Las Vegas Strip-area hotel. If you wish to be picking up outside of Las Vegas Strip-areas, please advise your pick up address when check out. ***Please note that surcharge may apply for picking up outside of The Strip of Las Vegas.

 

Our 1st stop of the day is the Hoover Dam, from where we will be able to have stunning view over Lake Mead. After the tour, we will travel to the Grand Canyon West Rim. We will visit Eagle Point and Guano Point for the amazing view of the Grand Canyon National Park. You will have the chance to take the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk Glass Bridge which you can walk on the transparent bridge over the Grand Canyon.

In the late evening, we will return to Las Vegas, NV to conclude out tour. Please advise your drop off address when check out.

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon National Park, in Arizona, is home to much of the immense Grand Canyon, with its layered bands of red rock revealing millions of years of geological history. Viewpoints include Mather Point, Yavapai Observation Station and architect Mary Colter’s Lookout Studio and her Desert View Watchtower. Lipan Point, with wide views of the canyon and Colorado River, is a popular, especially at sunrise and sunset.

Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Originally known as Boulder Dam from 1933, it was officially renamed Hoover Dam by a joint resolution of Congress in 1947. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. The dam was named after President Herbert Hoover.

Lake Mead

Lake Mead is a lake on the Colorado River, about 24 mi (39 km) from the Las Vegas Strip, southeast of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, in the states of Nevada and Arizona. It is the largest reservoir in the United States in terms of water capacity. Formed by the Hoover Dam, the reservoir serves water to the states of Arizona, California, and Nevada, providing sustenance to nearly 20 million people and large areas of farmland.

Skywalk Glass bridge

The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway in Arizona near the Colorado River on the edge of a side canyon in the Grand Canyon West area of the main canyon. USGS topographic maps show the elevation at the Skywalk’s location as 4,770 ft (1,450 m) and the elevation of the Colorado River in the base of the canyon as 1,160 ft (350 m), and they show that the height of the precisely vertical drop directly under the skywalk is between 500 ft (150 m) and 800 ft (240 m).

Its main street and focal point is the Strip, just over 4 miles long.
