Today, we are starting our tour at Los Angeles, CA and you can choose to be picking up from Downtown Los Angeles-area hotel. If you wish to be picking up outside of Downtown Los Angeles-areas, please advise your pick up address when check out. ***Please note that surcharge may apply for picking up outside of Los Angeles.

Today we will make our way to Palm Springs, CA, where we will first ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up the cliffside of Chino Canyon. From there, we will head to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens.

After lunch, we will take a tour of the famous homes in the area, seeing the places where some of our favorite celebrities live. Finally, we will stop at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in the area for some amazing discount shopping.

By the end of the day, we will return to Los Angeles, CA in the late evening to conclude our tour. Please advise your drop off address when check out.

Palm Springs, a city in the Sonoran Desert of southern California, is known for its hot springs, stylish hotels, golf courses and spas. Its core shopping district along Palm Canyon Drive features vintage boutiques, interior design shops and restaurants. The surrounding Coachella Valley offers hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Shop the antique and specialty shops along this route if you can on Thursdays when the road is closed to vehicles, and local merchants fill the streets with goods and fresh produce – look for the plump dates that grow especially well in the valley.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in Palm Springs, California, is the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world. It was opened in September 1963 as a way of getting from the floor of the Coachella Valley to relatively near the top of San Jacinto Peak and was constructed in rugged Chino Canyon. Before its construction, the only way to the top of the mountain was to hike a number of hours from Idyllwild.

Chino Canyon

Chino Canyon is a 5.5-mile-long (8.9 km) desert canyon, and its associated stream is a tributary of the Whitewater River in Riverside County, California, United States. The canyon is located in the northern part of the San Jacinto Mountains and is part of the Coachella Valley. It is one of the steepest canyons in North America, dropping from over 8,500 feet (2,600 m) at the south rim to less than 2,700 feet (820 m) on the valley floor in less than a mile. The southernmost, upper reaches of the canyon are bordered by Mount San Jacinto State Park. The canyon mouth at the north end is being encroached by the outskirts of Palm Springs, California. Chino Canyon is the site of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
