San Francisco, in northern California, is a hilly city on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. It’s known for its year-round fog, iconic Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and colorful Victorian houses. The Financial District’s Transamerica Pyramid is its most distinctive skyscraper. In the bay sits Alcatraz Island, site of the notorious former prison.

 

Itinerary: San Francisco, CA

Today we are going to fully explore San Francisco, CA like a local. You can choose to be picking up from San Francisco-area hotel. If you wish to be picking up outside of San Francisco-areas, please advise your pick up address when check out. ***Please note that surcharge may apply for picking up outside of San Francisco County.

We will tour the lovely city of San Francisco by seeing famous sights like the Golden Gate Bridge from the Golden Gate Park, which is a large urban park consisting of 1,017 acres of public grounds. We also can’t miss out the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts, and the amazing view on top of Twin Peaks. Union Square would be an ideal place for you to have enjoyed your lunch after visit the famous Lombard Street.

Next, we will tour one of the city’s busiest tourist areas, Fisherman’s Wharf which you can find souvenir shops and stalls selling crab and clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls appear at every turn, as do postcard views of the bay, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. We will also have the opportunity to take a San Francisco Bay Cruise Adventure at the Fisherman’s Wharf.

By the end of the day, we will return to San Francisco, CA in the late evening to conclude our tour. Please advise your drop off address when check out.

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Fisherman’s Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf, on the northern waterfront, is one of the city’s busiest tourist areas. Souvenir shops and stalls selling crab and clam chowder in sourdough bread bowls appear at every turn, as do postcard views of the bay, Golden Gate and Alcatraz. There’s also a colony of sea lions to see and historic ships to tour. At Ghirardelli Square, boutiques and eateries reside in the famed former chocolate factory.

Palace of Fine Arts

The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, walkways, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009.

Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks, named for a pair of 922-foot-high summits, is a remote residential neighborhood with modern homes densely packed on steep lots along winding streets. A grassy 64-acre hilltop park is a popular attraction, with its hiking trails leading up to wind-swept peaks and 360-degree views of the Bay Area. The triple-pronged Sutro Tower antenna that soars over the neighborhood is a fixture in the skyline

Union Square

Union Square is a public plaza bordered by Geary, Powell, Post and Stockton Streets in downtown San Francisco, California. “Union Square” also refers to the central shopping, hotel, and theater district that surrounds the plaza for several blocks. The area got its name because it was once used for Thomas Starr King rallies and support for the Union Army during the American Civil War, earning its designation as a California Historical Landmark.

Chinatown

The Chinatown centered on Grant Avenue and Stockton Street in San Francisco, California, is the oldest Chinatown in North America and the largest Chinese enclave outside Asia. It is the oldest of the four notable Chinatowns in the city. Beyond iconic Dragon’s Gate, a bustling maze of streets and alleys brims with dim sum joints and other traditional eateries. Since its establishment in 1848, it has been highly important and influential in the history and culture of ethnic Chinese immigrants in North America.

San Francisco Bay Cruise

Founded in 1892, the family-owned red and white fleet is San Francisco’s original sightseeing adventure and only multilingual sightseeing cruise.
